We all set out this morning to just get coffee down at Clinton. Just south of 39th st, we were on the bike route, a perfectly quiet street, we had it all to ourselves...or so we thought. Then, from behind we hear "On your left!". Fully expecting a freak with a triple wide trailer to pass us we were surprised to see a twenty-something on a fixed gear come by and say "I don't know if you know this but when someone says on your left you are supposed to move left so that they don't have to go into oncoming traffic to pass". Now, let me describe this situation again....a completely empty street, no cars, in oregon you are allowed to ride two abreast, and he gave us about one second to get into single file. So, it didn't go well after this. Originally, I thought the guy was joking. HE sure wasn't. So while he yelled backwards at us about how dangerous we are, with his hands off the bars, jake had to point out that a car was coming and that he was going to run into it head on. Then he ran the stop sign and told us to go do fljsdfjsjihoefih, I won't say here, it wasn't nice. I just laughed the whole time. Then it dawned on me, because of the way we were dressed he figured we had just started riding bikes.

Family bike trip goes horribly wrong (a portland bike rage tale)

People can be SO ridiculous. It's Sunday morning...not the middle of rush hour going over the Hawthorne Bridge. Jacob should have let him discover the oncoming car for himself :-0
That's silly. The best part about riding in Portland is that almost everyone is wearing normal clothes and doesn't look like a bike geek. Maybe he's the newbie and feels like he needs to tell everyone how to ride.
He was just suffering from Dorkus Maximus.
